Magnetic innovations participated in a project of Seismic Mechatronics and Delft University of Technology. Cooperatively we developed an extremely low frequency electromechanical vibrator for research in  Full Waveform Inversion, pseudo random sweeps and ground coupling effects. Repeatability and low harmonic distortion were focus points in the design stage. This innovative prototype vibrator is the  basis for a currently developed new type of seismic vibrator, called the Storm.

The prototype has been successfully tested at a number of international sites. Operational and acquisition examples include shooting a 1km offset 2D line, surface wave analyses and borehole VSP. Based on the seismic results, customers concluded that the technology is a game-changer in the seismic industry.
